Good advice

The trouble with medicine is we don't like to take advice. That's most of what this business is - "please do what I recommend because it's good for you"... How else do you talk someone into a procedure like a colonoscopy? It's not the only problem obviously this is merely a simplification.
I see so many people that as my doctor says "are more than a few Wisconsin units" meaning they are large, thick, carrying extra weight.
They all have the same problems. It's amazing how much additional pounds can impact one's health. For the most part we all know what we should do to be healthy - eat right, exercise, don't smoke, etc. And yet how many of us actually do what we know we ought all the time?
I know I'm a hypocrite when it comes to this. I don't always take the best care of myself. I have a big sweet tooth that I indulge more often than I should. I get lazy too.
We don't always seek advice, but even if we do - we often don't take it.  We may even give advice that we fail to use for ourselves. Humans are strange beings.
