The Secret in Their Eyes
For the first time in 25 years, an Argentine film won the Academy Award for best foreign film. It's kind of a big deal. I'd heard good things about "El Secreto de Sus Ojos" and finally rented it with some friends. It's about a detective who decides to write about a certain murder mystery case later in life. It was neat seeing the train station as part of the set that I've been to in Buenos Aires. The movie is very Argentine in terms of humor and manner of speech. I found it most interesting because of the themes of justice and how our choices shape our lives. If you like a movie with some twists and turns and don't mind some violence and harsh language (not the most accurate of translations makes it worse than it is), check it out!

Hi Kelly,
I think the beauty of 'El secreto de sus ojos' lies in the subtle details. As a matter of fact, the movie is really about the 'eyes'. I think the movie is more about the suppressed love between the lead pair than the murder mystery. I have jotted some details in my blog at http://bharathishekar.blogspot.com/2010/04/secret-in-their-eyes-el-secreto-de-sus.html . Please have a read and let me know your thoughts.

Shekar
Hey,
Great post! Thanks for sharing it. I couldn't agree more. I loved the subtle details and those moments of depth that speak wordlessly throughout the movie between the characters.
