Lately, I've had so much going on in my head, it has been difficult to process things. This make condensing thoughts into a readable blog format nearly impossible.
Today was somewhat different. Actually it was rather extraordinary. I began by going to the Chicago Botanic Garden. I spent a couple hours touring the expansive area. The first spring flowers are starting to bloom. The greenhouses were filled with tropical plants. I marveled at the exquisite beauty of nature, from swans swimming in between islands to green buds poking through the dirt to flowering foliage. In the long winter spent mostly indoors, it had been a while since I've really appreciated what is outside and more importantly stopped long enough to absorb it. Today was brilliant.
Tonight I went to a special Thursday service with it being Holy Week. We shared communion, worshiped, and just had time to pray. Seldom do we actually take enough time to pause and reflect like that particularly in a group setting. It was like a deep breathe that relaxed me.
