So it's been a while. I'm almost positive that once I'm in Argentina, I will be updating this more than once a month. Anyway, I'm just checking in to get you up to speed on life for me now. I've been getting pretty good at packing and living out of a suitcase with commuting between home and Madison for work and things. My friends are gracious enough to give me a couch to crash on whenever I need it. I am so fortunate!
This weekend I'll be packing up again for a warmer week. Wisconsin winter seems like it will never end as the cold keeps gripping the air. I'm going to New Orleans with Blackhawk Church's college-age ministry. About 30 of us will be serving the community--meeting needs that are presented to us with the volunteer organization, United Saints. I'm eager to have this experience that will stretch my leadership skills and also help me connect with new people and God in fresh ways. Breaking out of the routine!
I've been going back to Philippians (probably my favorite book of the Bible) and beginning to grasp what Paul meant in chapter four when he said he learned to be content whatever the circumstances whether in need or in plenty. In an economy like the one we find our world in today, it's important for all of us to find this hope and peace being satisfied with what we already have instead of pining after more material possessions.
